Carine Hinder is coming to the Tokyo BD Festival 2026!

The 2nd Tokyo BD Festival will take place on October 31 and November 1, 2026. Thanks to the support of Glénat, we are delighted to announce the participation of comic book author Carine Hinder.

With her delicate linework and warm color palette, Carine Hinder brings to life stories filled with poetry and emotion. A renowned author in the field of children's literature, she has recently gained widespread recognition through her comic book series Brume.

The series follows the adventures of Brume, a young girl raised in the forest who dreams of becoming a “real witch.” Blending humor, imagination, and a spirit of adventure, her journey has captivated readers of all ages. Currently spanning four volumes, the series has been widely praised for its sensitive exploration of personal growth, friendship, and self-discovery.

Carine Hinder is a French author and illustrator. She works primarily in the fields of children's publishing, games, and visual communication. She is also the co-creator of Pfffirates, an animated series broadcast on TF1.

Colorful, dynamic, gentle, and joyful, her work has received numerous awards, including the Prix Renaudot in 2013. She was also selected to illustrate the McDonald’s book collections in 2018 and 2020.

Carine Hinder is a woman of many passions, which she enthusiastically shares on social media—from ceramics and basket weaving to culture and the arts. These diverse interests make her a truly unique and versatile artist with a wide-ranging creative talent.
