Luis Mendo is coming to the Tokyo BD Festival 2026!

As part of the 2nd Tokyo BD Festival, to be held on October 31 (Saturday) and November 1 (Sunday), 2026, we are delighted to welcome illustrator Luis Mendo!

Born in Madrid, Spain, Luis Mendo spent twenty years in Amsterdam working as an editorial designer and creative director. He later moved to Japan to devote himself fully to drawing and artistic creation. Today, he develops a sensitive and poetic body of work inspired by everyday life and his observations of the urban environment.

Luis Mendo is an illustrator and author based in Japan. After working for twenty years in Amsterdam as an editorial designer and creative director, he moved to Tokyo and shifted his focus to illustration and drawing. His work has been featured worldwide across a wide range of media, including books, websites, magazines, advertising campaigns, and clothing collections.

In 2024, he launched Mundo Mendo, a membership program through which he shares his artwork, stories, and reflections. Each year, the content created within this program is collected and published in a printed book.
