About Tokyo Bande Dessinée Festival
Infomation
In recent years, Japanese manga has enjoyed great popularity in France and other European countries. On the other hand, despite its high artistic value, bande dessinée (BD) is not yet widely recognised in Japan. However, the two have influenced each other over decades and deepened cultural appreciation. This festival aims to promote cultural exchange between the different participating countries and further introduce bande dessinée to the Japanese public.

Bandes dessinées market hall
A selection of bandes dessinées from Japanese and French publishers will be on display and available for purchase.
Talks
(reservation required)
We will hold several talk shows together with our guest authors and experts to deepen cultural exchange.
Signing sessions
(reservation required)
We will hold book signing events with the authors.
Festival catalogue
We will sell catalogues that include bandes dessinées, author bios, and sample from selected works. (Planned price: 2,000 yen per unit)
Regional foods and products
We plan to sell French food and miscellaneous goods, as well as items from shops in Kita Ward, in addition to bandes dessinées.
