About Tokyo Bande Dessinée Festival
Infomation
In recent years, Japanese manga has enjoyed great popularity in France and other European countries. On the other hand, despite its high artistic value, bande dessinée is not yet widely recognised in Japan. However, the two have influenced each other for many years and deepened cultural exchange. This festival aims to further promote cultural exchange between the different countries and introduce the appeal of bande dessinée to the Japanese public.

Here is what we have planned
Exhibition and sale of bandes dessinées
A selection of bandes dessinées from Japanese and French publishers will be on display and available for purchase.
Conference (reservation required)
We will hold several talk show by the authors to deepen cultural exchange.
Sign session (reservation required)
We will hold book signing events with the authors.
Publishing a festival catalogue
We will sell catalogues that include bandes dessinées, author introductions, and sample readings. (Planned price: 2,000 yen per book)
Regional product exhibition
We plan to sell French food and miscellaneous goods, as well as items from shops in Kita Ward, in addition to bandes dessinées.
